Social Media's Impact on Society

I want to research the positives and negatives of social media and how it changed our world. One aspect is its role in communication, such as faster communication, keeping people connected and breaking down distance barriers, and how it makes people less social. Also, what social media does for businesses; it helps bring awareness, and gives you the opportunity to develop relationships with your audience. Overall, it is based on the communication aspect, both personal and professional.

    Hi Alicia! This topic sounds super interesting. Since most of us are pretty young, we don't really know what the world is without social media, so it would be interesting to research what it was like; you know, besides for hearing the "back in my days" stories from our parents. It has definitely improved the way we communicate and run business. I always think how some of the things I get done at work were able to get done before technology and new media.

    Hey Alicia,
    I think this is a really great topic to research. Social media definitely makes a large impact in everyone's lives in both positive and negative ways. Although there is an increase in communication, sometimes it isn't necessarily for the best. So much communication amongst large friendship groups may create tension as information is passed along quickly. The aspect of speed is also a positive though in a business sense since information about products are spread fast. Great topic!

I wanted to make a short clip that displays a few of my amazing experiences at music festivals with my best friends. I used Magisto, an online video editor. It is a mobile and web application for video editing and production. It allows users to add a creative aspect to videos and images they produce.
